Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary
Bentley's bespoke coachbuilding division, Mulliner, has designed a unique keycase to mark the centennial of the company. Made from Dark Stained Burr Walnut and Piano Black veneer, it comes with a flying 'B' paperweight, a set of keys as well as a brochure with never-before-seen 1930 8 Litre images.

Design

Bentley has released a special specification for cars manufactured after 2019 to celebrate its centenary. This is called the Centenary Specification. The cabin is decorated with cross-stitching as well as contrast stitching in Centenary Gold throughout. Personalisation
Bentley's bespoke division, Mulliner, allows customers to design their own vehicle. The "mood station" lets guests pick images that inspire them. The configuration that is created is then loaded onto individual R.F.I.D.-enabled keys which are presented to guests in a custom key case. Bentley estimates that it takes 500 man-hours on average to construct and build the Mulsanne. One of the main reasons for that lengthy effort is a deliberate refusal to take advantage of modern technology. The Crewe factory workers do not utilize a machine for arranging perfectly-matched leather seats. Instead they do it by hand. And rather than using the car's built-in sensors guide it to perpendicular and parallel parking spots, drivers have to do it by hand.
